The 2026 YZF-R7, now learner-approved, features the reliable 655cc CP2 engine, a sharper handling chassis, and a sleek new design that captures the excitement of the next generation of R World.
It comes packed with a variety of new features, such as a redesigned frame, improved ergonomics, an advanced electronics package, and smartphone connectivity. The YZF-R7 is revolutionizing the Supersport class by offering the perfect blend of performance, accessibility, and affordability.

Yamaha's twin-cylinder DOHC engine offers strong performance throughout the rpm range for a true Supersport experience. Its 270-degree crossplane crankshaft ensures thrilling acceleration with minimal vibration. The YZF-R7 features the same intake duct shape and asymmetrical funnel lengths as the MT-07, enhancing the induction roar for a more immersive ride.

The YZF-R7 has a fully adjustable KYB 41mm inverted front fork with optimized spring rate and damping for excellent cornering and braking. It offers predictable behavior and a stiff feel, making it ideal for twisty roads and racetracks.

The YZF-R7 is Yamaha's first model with a Brembo radial brake master cylinder, delivering a linear hydraulic pressure to the four-pot front calipers for improved control and stopping power with dual 298mm rotors.

The YZF-R7 now features Yamaha's Y-TRAC Rev compatibility, allowing communication with a pit crew on track, similar to pro riders. Key functions include a Lap Timer, Virtual Pitboard, and Ride Data Analysis, which provides real-time data on the TFT display and post-session analysis.

The 5in TFT instrument display boasts four themes and a track-specific mode. Yamaha's free Y-Connect app enables smartphone connectivity for notifications, calls, and music (using an aftermarket Bluetooth® headset). Full turn-by-turn navigation is available through the free Garmin® StreetCross app.

The YZF-R7 features a distinctive M-shaped intake duct and twin-eye front design, housing an adaptive bi-functional LED headlight, along with LED taillights and turn signals. This lightweight lighting enhances the bike's modern style while ensuring long life, minimal power consumption, and excellent visibility day or night.

The 2026 riding position has been improved for better rider movement and comfort. The handlebar is positioned higher and closer, while the redesigned seat shape and lower height enhance ground reach. A new fuel tank design also improves grip and allows for greater freedom of movement.

Yamaha's spin-forging process creates sporty 10-spoke aluminum wheels that reduce unsprung weight, leading to better suspension action and responsiveness in cornering and braking. The YZF-R7 is also equipped with high-performance Bridgestone® Battlax Hypersport S23 tires.

The YZF-R7 features a revised high-tensile steel tubular frame that enhances strength and rigidity while maintaining the same weight as its predecessor. The updated asymmetrical swingarm further optimizes rigidity, resulting in improved stability and clearer road feedback.

The 2026 YZF-R7 is equipped with Yamaha's advanced third-generation Quick Shift System (QSS), enabling quick, clutchless upshifts and downshifts under both acceleration and deceleration. The system operates at speeds above 16 KM/H, with upshifts above 2000 RPM and downshifts above 1600 RPM.
