Built from the ground up with a sleek, ultra-thin lightweight chassis, the YZF-R7 is powered by Yamaha’s proven CP2 engine. Enhanced with track-focused supersport features, the learner-approved YZF-R7 embodies Yamaha's rich history of aggressive performance and racing dominance.
The YZF-R7 offers reliable power, a slim chassis, and styling that captures the exciting next generation of R World. It comes with a variety of features, including a responsive 655cc CP2 engine tailored to maximize Australia's LAMs limit, a lightweight frame with exceptional aerodynamics, an inverted front fork for superior front-end feel, and a racing-inspired cockpit with a sporty rider position.
The YZF-R7 features Yamaha’s liquid-cooled, four-stroke, in-line two-cylinder, DOHC CP2 engine. With forged aluminium pistons, direct-plated cylinders, and a 270-degree crank, it offers torquey acceleration and linear power delivery at all engine speeds.
The YZF-R7 features an inverted KYB 41mm front fork with adjustable settings for excellent front-end feel during cornering and braking. The linked-type monocross shock offers a balance between ride comfort and sporty performance for various uses, from urban commuting to track days.
The YZF-R7 features an ultra-narrow, high-strength steel frame with aluminium centre braces for improved rigidity and superb handling on both racetracks and twisty roads. The slim design reduces air resistance and incorporates the rider's body into its design.
The YZF-R7 is the first Yamaha model to feature a radial brake master cylinder from Brembo. This Brembo radial master cylinder provides a more linear supply of hydraulic pressure to the radial-mounted, four-pot front brake callipers, creating excellent controllability and stopping power through dual 298mm front brake rotors.
The YZF-R7’s racing-inspired cockpit puts the rider in a comfortable and confidence-inspiring position, evoking an eagerness to ride. It features a comfortable seat, a low-profile fuel tank cover with deep knee pockets, and separate clip-on handlebars for an aggressive riding position.
The YZF-R7 features a full LCD instrument panel with a high-contrast negative dashboard and compact multifunction display. Spot colour highlights the high-rpm range display, and new handlebar switches make meter operation easier for the rider.
The YZF-R7 features an iconic M-shaped intake duct, a twin-eye front design, and an adaptive bi-functional LED headlight. It also includes LED taillight and front and rear turn signals. The LED lighting is light, and compact, and complements the bike's style, offering long life with minimal power draw and brilliant illumination for confidence and visibility day or night.
