Yamaha's YZF-R1M is its most exclusive supersport model, featuring a unique colour scheme, polished aluminium swingarm, and full carbon fibre bodywork with carbon fibre winglets for a track-focused aesthetic. An engraved, serial-numbered badge emphasizes its exclusivity.
While it shares the powerful 998cc CP4 crossplane engine and advanced electronics with the standard R1, the R1M enhances performance with Öhlins Electronic Racing Suspension, offering streamlined tuning modes for both street and track, along with manual tuning options.

The 998cc engine, inspired by M1 MotoGP technology, utilizes Bosch injectors for improved efficiency and features specially designed rocker arms and cam lobes for exceptional high-rpm performance. This EU5 crossplane engine also includes a high-efficiency lubrication system for optimal performance.

The YZF-R1M features a factory-inspired design from the Yamaha M1 MotoGP bike, with an aggressive front cowl for reduced drag and an integrated fairing that enhances aerodynamics and provides a streamlined riding position.

Technology is changing how we ride, and the YZF-R1M includes seven electronic control systems. The Brake Control (BC) system, with two modes, analyzes lean angle and acceleration data to modulate hydraulic brake pressure and prevent wheel lockups.

When you're on the track, the Engine Brake Management (EBM) system lets you adjust engine braking force using data from sensors. It offers three engine braking modes for different riding situations.

The Öhlins Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) is the most advanced suspension system available on a production Yamaha. It enables more efficient cornering, braking, and acceleration through advanced software and a user-friendly interface for rapid suspension setting changes.

The Communication Control Unit (CCU) enables checks of machine information and simplifies the setting process to enhance the instrument panel's function as a rider-machine interface. It includes a GPS antenna and data logger for recording running data, and can also automatically record lap times on a circuit course.

The YZF-R1M also comes equipped with a new Quick Shift System that allows for faster gear changing. This system instantly cancels drive torque when an upshift is detected, enabling full-throttle clutchless upshifts for outstanding acceleration through the close-ratio 6-speed transmission.

The 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) includes a gyro sensor for measuring pitch, roll, and yaw, and a G-sensor for measuring acceleration in different directions. This technology enables various rider aids such as lean-sensitive Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control System (SCS), front wheel lift control system (LIF), and Brake Control system (BC).

New lightweight, compact LED twin headlights for both the low and high beam, combined with the redesigned body styling to create a new front face symbolizing the next-generation of R-Series design.

The Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) is activated by a high-tech twist grip assembly that provides precise and natural control. The lightweight ride-by-wire APSG (Accelerator Position Sensor Grip) twist grip offers instant throttle response.

Developed through extensive simulator and on-track testing, MotoGP-inspired carbon fibre winglets create additional downforce for exceptional chassis stability and added front-end feel when braking or cornering.
