998cc CP4 Engine

The 998cc engine, developed with M1 MotoGP technology, has Bosch injectors for increased efficiency. It also has specially designed finger-follower rocker arms, cam lobes for high-rpm performance, and a high-efficiency lubrication system.

Advanced Bodywork

The YZF-R1M has a factory-bike look inspired by the Yamaha M1 MotoGP bike. The front cowl and screen are aggressive and give a low frontal area for minimal drag. The integrated fairing flows seamlessly into the fuel tank sides to give a tight tuck-in position for efficient aerodynamics.

Brake Control System

The YZF-R1M has seven electronic control systems, including the Brake Control (BC) system that prevents wheel lockups by analyzing data like lean angle and acceleration.

Engine Brake Management

The Engine Brake Management (EBM) system lets you adjust the engine braking force on the track. It uses data from sensors to adjust throttle opening, ignition timing, and fuel injection volume, giving you three engine braking modes to choose from for different riding situations.

Öhlins Electronic Racing Suspension

Öhlins Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) on Yamaha is the most advanced suspension system. Its software allows for efficient cornering, braking, and acceleration, and its user-friendly interface enables quick suspension setting changes for different tracks and surface conditions.

Communication Control Unit

The Communication Control Unit (CCU) simplifies the setting process and records running data via a data logger. It also enables automatic lap time recording on the circuit course with the GPS function.
