Stacked with cutting-edge technology gleaned directly from MotoGP and Superbike competition, the YZF-R1 70th Anniversary Edition features a powerful 998cc crossplane CP4 engine, refined Deltabox frame, MotoGP®-inspired carbon fiber winglets, and a comprehensive electronics package for the ultimate in performance and control.

Premium Brembo® front brakes and a highly refined KYB® suspension further enhance its track-focused capability. It all comes wrapped in iconic white and red speed block livery commemorating the historic 1955 birth of Yamaha Motor Company.

998cc CP4 Engine

The 998cc engine, developed with M1 MotoGP technology, features Bosch injectors for increased efficiency and specially designed rocker arms for excellent high-rpm performance. This EU5 crossplane engine also includes a high-efficiency lubrication system for optimal performance.

The KYB front fork provides outstanding response and performance, featuring individual adjusters on both fork tubes for preload, high- and low-speed compression, and rebound adjustments to ensure precise damping control.

Quick Shift System

The YZF-R1 also comes equipped with a Quick Shift System that gives faster gear changing. This system instantly cancels drive torque when an upshift is detected – enabling full-throttle clutchless upshifts for outstanding acceleration through the close-ratio 6-speed transmission.
