889cc CP3 engine

Engine capacity is enlarged to 889cc by increasing the bore size by 3mm, and the extra 42cc boosts maximum horsepower by 4PS to 119PS at 10,000rpm. Maximum torque on the new engine is 93Nm, and peak torque is achieved at only 7000rpm.

Exclusive Fully-Adjustable Suspension

The SP-exclusive premium suspension offers Supersport-level handling and precision to the Hyper Naked class. It features 41mm DLC-coated KYB forks and Öhlins rear shocks, which provide excellent stability during sporty riding.

Smart Key System

The MT-09 SP is the first Hyper Naked bike with Yamaha's Smart Key System. The engine starts by pressing and turning the switch, provided the smart key is nearby. The switch also has a lock/unlock option for the fuel tank cap, making the riding experience simpler.

5in TFT Display with Connectivity

The 5-inch TFT instruments offer five themes, including the SP-specific TRACK theme. You can link your smartphone to the TFT screen via the Y-Connect app to receive notifications, calls, and listen to music*. Garmin StreetCross app provides full map navigation.

Acoustic Amplifier Grilles

The MT-09SP's CP3 engine produces a grin-inducing roar that evokes pure adrenaline with every twist of the throttle. The bike features air-intake ducts and an acoustic amplifier grille on top of the fuel tank that accentuates and emphasises the engine's high-frequency sounds.

6-axis IMU

Developed from the R1, the compact six-axis IMU controls the MT-09 SP’s high-tech rider aids including a three-mode Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control System (SCS), front wheel Lift Control System (LIF) and Brake Control System.
