The KX250X engine stands out with features like finger-follower valve actuation, a downdraft-style intake, and dual injectors, enhanced by a revised intake and exhaust layout and a single-shaft primary balancer, providing a stronger package for improved control and competitive racing performance.
The improved low-end torque and smoother power delivery provide a more linear throttle response. This enhances control, smooth acceleration on tough surfaces, and reduces rider fatigue during races.
Being able to restart an engine quickly during a race can mean the difference between keeping your lead or having to fight your way back through the pack. Electric start makes restarting the engine as easy as pushing a button.
Compared to a conventional clutch, the hydraulic clutch offers more direct feel and lighter lever action. Less play as the clutch heats up during heavy use results in more consistent feeling.
The redesigned frame for the 2024 KX450 enhances engine intake and exhaust, offering light handling, stability, and better cornering performance in various conditions.
The Showa ø49 mm fork and Uni Trak rear suspension provide adjustable settings for race-ready performance on cross-country trails.
Riders can customize their position with four handlebar and two footpeg options. The Renthal aluminium Fatbar reduces vibrations and allows for better front wheel control.
Medium-compound ODI Lock-On Grips offer excellent grip feel, while their screw-type fastening system greatly facilitates the task of swapping grips.
The left side cover removes easily without tools, allowing quick access to the air filter, which now uses quick-release hooks.
While the KX250 features F21”/R19” aluminium rims, the KX250X uses a F21”/R18” combination that facilitates putting power to the ground. Dunlop AT81 enduro-type tyres complement the KX250X-specific wheels and are well-suited to the situations encountered in cross-country riding.
Convenient side stand comes in handy when stopping away from the paddock area.
The Power Mode selection button replaces the DFI couplers used on the previous model. Using the Mode (M) button on the left handlebar, riders can quickly and easily switch between two engine maps (Normal, Aggressive) provided in the ECU.
Using the Traction (T) button on the left handlebar, riders can quickly and easily select from two levels (Weak, Strong) of traction control to suit conditions and preference. Riders may also elect to turn the system off.
Factory-style launch control system increases the chance of getting a good start by helping riders maximise traction when starting on a low-traction surface.
Using the smartphone application “RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX,” riders are able to access and adjust their bike’s engine maps. Functionality (adjusting fuel and ignition timing) is similar to that offered by the accessory KX FI Calibration Kit used with previous models. Maintenance and setup logs are also available.
