Symmetrically aligned intake and exhaust enhance low-rpm torque and provide a strong overrun. The redesigned intake offers a straighter path for the air-fuel mix, and the centrally positioned exhaust port improves airflow efficiency, boosting performance. The optimized downdraft intake further enhances low-end performance.

During a race, being able to restart an engine fast can mean the difference between maintaining your lead and having to battle your way back through the pack. Electric start makes restarting the engine as easy as pushing a button.

The hydraulic clutch provides a more direct feel and lighter lever action than a conventional clutch. It reduces play as the clutch heats up, ensuring consistent performance. Coned-disc springs contribute to lighter actuation and a wider engagement range, improving control, especially during half-clutching.

The increased low-end torque and smoother power delivery provide a more linear throttle response, ensuring lag-free power relative to throttle position. This enhances control for smoother acceleration on challenging surfaces, boosts rider confidence, and reduces fatigue, allowing for sustained race pace.

The redesigned frame of the 2024 KX450 supports updates to the engine's intake and exhaust, enhancing light handling and stability. Optimized rigidity balance improves front-end feel and cornering performance across diverse conditions.

Improved front-end feedback enhances cornering stability, while the revised rear suspension improves acceleration on the corner exit.

The KX250, which is already well-known for its slim ergonomics, has a redesigned body that provides an even smoother riding experience. Newly designed shrouds, side covers, and rear fender are firmer and eliminate hooking points, further facilitating rider movement.

Riders can customize their position with four handlebar and two footpeg settings. The ø28.6 mm (1-1/8”) Renthal aluminium Fatbar minimizes vibrations and shocks, while a lower grip position helps with front wheel weighting.

Medium-compound ODI Lock-On Grips offer excellent grip feel, while their screw-type fastening system greatly facilitates the task of swapping grips.

Left side cover can be removed without tools, facilitating access to the air filter element. The element is now secured with quick-release hooks (previously a wing bolt), which makes changing the air filter a much simpler task.

The Power Mode selection button replaces the DFI couplers used on the previous model. Using the Mode (M) button on the left handlebar, riders can quickly and easily switch between two engine maps (Normal, Aggressive) provided in the ECU.

Using the Traction (T) button on the left handlebar, riders can quickly and easily select from two levels (Weak, Strong) of traction control to suit conditions and preference. Riders may also elect to turn the system off.

Factory-style launch control system increases the chance of getting a good start by helping riders maximise traction when starting on a low-traction surface.

Using the smartphone application “RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX,” riders are able to access and adjust their bike’s engine maps. Functionality (adjusting fuel and ignition timing) is similar to that offered by the accessory KX FI Calibration Kit used with previous models. Maintenance and setup logs are also available.
