The Z900RS wears the styling of Kawasaki's original Z1 with real conviction, but underneath it's every bit as modern as the rest of the naked range — a 948cc in-line four gives it genuinely smooth, manageable power, while a full IMU-enhanced electronics suite (cornering-aware ABS, traction control, cornering management) means the classic looks aren't hiding dated performance. It's built for riders who want timeless style without giving up a modern riding experience.
Stylish fins integrated into the cylinder head create the impression of an air-cooled engine and are further complemented by engine design cues inspired by the original Z1. The engine cover design is reminiscent of traditional naked models, and the use of die-cast aluminium for all covers adds a high-quality, premium finish.
The exhaust system highlights the In-Line Four engine with robust dual-wall header pipes that resist discolouration. The new megaphone-style silencer enhances the retro sport image, made from high-quality stainless steel.
The design features a teardrop-style fuel tank inspired by the Z1, with a sleek tail cowl and details like a round LED headlamp and an oval taillight.
The Z900RS features a 900cc inline-four engine that balances power and manageability, with improved throttle valves for better control and increased higher rpm power.
Complementing a light overall weight (noticeable as soon as the bike is lifted off its side-stand), frame rigidity and chassis geometry tuning were selected to deliver light, natural handling. Like the engine, the chassis responds to rider input predictably, going where the rider wants it to without resistance.
The Z900RS’ suspension and brake components are on par with those of a modern supersport model. A 41mm inverted fork with adjustable damping and horizontal back-link rear suspension contribute to both a comfortable ride and sporty performance. Radial-mount front brakes deliver a linear brake feel with excellent controllability.
Whether riding through the city or exploring hilly terrain, the upright and relaxed riding position of the Z900RS offers both comfort and control.
Allowing riders to take even greater advantage of the Z900RS’ exhilarating engine character, the quick shifter enables clutchless upshifts and downshifts for seamless acceleration and easy deceleration.
With the push of a button, riders are able to easily maintain a set speed, making highway cruising even more comfortable.
Smartphone connectivity enhances motorcycling through RIDEOLOGY THE APP, which should only be used when the vehicle is not in operation. Voice Command and Navigation require a license.
