Since it was first released, the CMX500 has gained popularity for its distinctive styling, which combines a classic appearance with a unique contemporary style, and accessibility, with a low seat height, a relaxed riding position, and a lightweight, tried-and-true 471cc parallel-twin engine with an approachable powerband. The package is made even more appealing by contemporary features such as complete LED illumination, digital instruments with gear position indicators, and a slipper/assist clutch. The CMX500's potential to be your personal canvas and allow you to express yourself, however, is what truly sets it apart. There are two versions of the CMX500: Standard and S Edition. The S Edition has a custom diamond-stitched style seat, retro front fork covers and gaiters, and a headlamp cowl with a smoke screen that is factory installed.
The light and narrow 471cc parallel-cylinder engine deliver plenty of power and torque in the midrange, striking the ideal balance for a mid-sized motorcycle engine. PGM-FI continuously ensures that the correct fuel mixture is delivered for the conditions, providing you with a crisp throttle response at all times.
Easy-to-read LCD screen displays digital speedometre, gear position indicator, clock, odometre, trip metre, fuel gauge, and illuminated engine diagnostic indicators.
The seat, at 690mm high, provides comfort and enables easy flat-footing at stoplights and in parking lots. Combined with the mid-mounted footpegs, it ensures a natural riding position with balanced and neutral steering.
Bright LED headlights and taillight deliver great visibility.
The tubular steel frame is designed to be as narrow as possible around the rider's inseam and grips the engine in three places, while the bolt-on cast aluminium subframe allows for even more customization.
When riding in less-than-ideal conditions, front and rear disc brakes and the included Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) help you stop more smoothly and under control.
