    Dainese from Bikebiz

It was Lino Dainese who started it all, way back in 1968. It was Lino Dainese who started it all, way back in 1968. Travelling to London on a Vespa, for the first time he witnessed the ‘café racers’ of the day, their riders adorned in early leather suits. His imagination captured, when he returned to Italy he decided that his future would be in the design and manufacturing of protection for motorcyclists.

The first Dainese leather trousers were worn at the motocross track in 1972, but by 1974, full leather suits using new techniques were already being trusted by riders in the World Championship Series of the time. By 1979 Dainese was pioneering back protectors, and by 1981 experimental designs of knee sliders were being tested. One innovation followed another. The first suits were designed that were shaped to the ‘racer’s tuck’ rather than the standing stance. Composite protection was introduced in 1982, and with every year designs such as knee sliders and back protection evolved further. In parallel with its already famed leather suits, Dainese also launched their own designs in boots, gloves and helmets.

From the early days, Dainese has been a constant presence at racetracks around the world, watching, testing and learning. Race research led to incremental advances like the aerodynamic hump on suits, as well as huge leaps forward such as the D-air airbag system, first for racers, then for road riders. At every step there have been awards, wins and associations with racing legends including 9-times world champion Valentino Rossi.

What started with a Vespa trip back in 1968 has today grown to become a company known and revered around the world by riders who demand the very best in protection, with distinctive style always part of the package. Today Dainese offers suits, pants, jackets, helmets, boots, gloves and accessories for every type of rider, men, women and children. Protection, as always, remains the focus, and Dainese offers it in products as carefully considered for commuters and casual riders as it does for elite racers. There is gear for every condition and discipline – rain and snow, racing and adventure.

Bikebiz, like Dainese, is a name well known for its constant focus on supporting the needs of motorcyclists.
