The WR250F is a rider-friendly motorcycle that is lightweight and slim, featuring a low center of gravity. This design allows for sharp handling through tight turns, providing a more confidence-inspiring and stable feel.
The YZ250F-type cylinder head has a wide intake port and a high-performance exhaust camshaft, delivering rapid performance in the mid to top-end range while maintaining the WR250F's strong torque at low RPMs.
Additionally, the motorcycle is equipped with a three-level traction control system, offering an exceptional level of control. It's important to note that Australian WRF models are supplied in full ADR specification, allowing for complete road registration. This includes necessary components such as indicators, mirrors, and a horn. Each bike also comes with a complimentary Off-Road Kit designed for closed-course competition use. The kit includes brush guards, a front fender, and a lightweight rear light and tail section.
The compact and powerful 250cc four-stroke engine is derived from the class-leading YZ250F, then tuned specifically for enduro. New for 2026, an industry-first ECU lock function has been introduced to prevent theft and unauthorized engine start-up through a password-protected lock.
The bilateral beam frame was developed based on rider feedback to ensure a balanced rigidity for excellent handling, turning, and impact absorption.
The 300mm progressive travel forks are designed for optimal off-road performance and help achieve a lower center of gravity. The spring rate and damping settings are tailored for each model, and the compression damping adjustments can now be made by hand.
Compact bodywork with narrow shrouds, a flat seat, and a slim fuel tank makes moving around on the bike easier. Tapered aluminum handlebars are secured to four-position adjustable mounts, while the wide 55mm foot pegs provide additional control and comfort.
The left handlebar switchgear allows riders to switch engine maps via the Power Tuner App. Map 1 is quick and responsive; Map 2 is smoother and slower.
An airflow management system enables clean air to enter from various points, such as the shrouds, tank, and seat. A lightweight airbox combined with a rounded air filter enhances airflow. The air intake system, airbox, and filter work together to reduce weight and improve engine performance, ensuring linear power delivery and better rideability.
The Yamaha Power Tuner App is free and lets users adjust air/fuel mixture and ignition timing on iOS and Android. The updated version is user-friendly and includes features like engine mapping, traction control tuning, and a lap timer.
The WR250F boasts an impressive multi-function display that not only showcases your speed but also keeps you informed with trip details. Plus, it has handy low-fuel and engine warning indicators, ensuring you stay on top of your driving experience!
A lightweight rear wheel hub has been designed to reduce weight, featuring a robust 25mm axle diameter for enhanced strength. These strong yet lightweight wheels decrease unsprung weight. Along with the lightweight rear wheel hub, this setup provides excellent handling and feedback from the road surface, ensuring an outstanding riding experience.
