The latest MT-07 has always been known for its engaging response and linear torque delivery, but internal upgrades make it even more accessible, with improved torque, a vibrant soundtrack, and a refined gear change.
The fourth-generation MT-07 delivers next-level stopping power with large twin discs gripped by radially mounted 4-piston brake callipers. The increased rigidity in the design allows for strong and consistent braking performance, ensuring that forces are evenly distributed under hard emergency braking.
The MT-07 gets a new stripped-back look with a distinct "face" from the minimalist LED headlight unit, straight from Japan's Dark Side. With engineering and styling in perfect sync, nothing is added to the MT-07 unless it truly improves the riding experience. The result is a motorcycle that has a unique connection with its rider.
New 41mm 'upside down' forks provide high levels of control and intuitive connection with the front tyre, all while giving the MT-07 a more modern appearance. The highly responsive forks are paired with a linked-type rear shock absorber that can be adjusted for both preload and rebound damping, resulting in a sporting ride every time.
The MT-07's 5" TFT instruments have multiple themes and smartphone connectivity via the free MyRide app, so you can now listen to music and view incoming calls and message notifications on the dashboard. The free Garmin StreetCross app also provides full map and turn-by-turn navigation, all of which can be controlled through the new switchgear.
The frame uses high-tensile tubular steel for high levels of strength and weighs about 14.8 kg, which is the same as the previous MT-07, even though it has 12–13% more torsional, longitudinal, and lateral rigidity. The swingarm pivot assembly is a crucial component in determining the motorcycle's balance and handling agility.
YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) enables a new generation of electronic aids and contributes to more linear power delivery, creating a stronger connection between rider and machine. Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) offers two throttle maps and switchable traction control, as well as a customisable YRC mode to suit your preferences.
The MT-07 has a sound amplification system that harnesses the bike's induction roar, enhancing and channelling it to the rider to increase the grin-inducing feeling offered by the MT's famous torque.

The wheels were created using Yamaha's patented SpinForged technology, resulting in a lighter and more agile MT-07. This allows for a thinner, lighter casting without sacrificing strength. Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tyres were chosen specifically as OE equipment for the MT-07 due to their light handling and all-around capabilities.
New handlebar switch assemblies that are integrated enable the MT-07's increased functionality, including riding modes, navigation, and smartphone connectivity. Self-cancelling, the new turn signals have a 'three flash' feature for changing lanes. The new Emergency Stop Signalling also detects emergency braking and turns on the indicator lights.
