The V-STROM 800 combines optimum performance with comfort and handling ease that make even the longest rides all the more enjoyable. Highly controllable and agile, it is also fun and practical in daily use around town. As capable on the highway as on back roads and country trails, the V-STROM 800 gives you the freedom to choose your path. It is your all-access pass to adventure riding.
The 776cm3 parallel twin engine in the V-STROM 800 offers a smooth and powerful performance for long trips or daily rides. It has a 270-degree crank layout that ensures high torque and good traction, along with a pleasant rumble like a V-twin engine. Its compact design aids in weight distribution and provides a comfortable riding position.
The engine includes the Suzuki Cross Balancer, using two balancers at 90° to the crankshaft to minimize vibration. Balancer No. 1 counteracts first cylinder vibration, and balancer No. 2 handles the second. A 270-degree crankshaft angle further decreases secondary vibration, enhancing smooth engine performance.
The radiator cools the parallel twin engine, with a fan managing coolant temperature. The inlet control stabilizes temperature during warm-up. A thermo valve improves combustion and cuts exhaust emissions. The V-STROM 800 has a lightweight oil cooler for better lubrication.
The 2-into-1 exhaust system for the V-STROM 800 creates a nice sound for the parallel twin engine, whether on highways or trails. It meets Euro 5 emission standards and improves power and performance.
The V-STROM 800 adopts narrow tapered handlebars made from strong yet flexible aluminium. These handlebars contribute to greater comfort and a comfortable riding position under all riding conditions.
Exclusively engineered D614F/D614 tyres feature a new tread pattern.
Suzuki’s design team aims for the new V-STROM 800 to continue the V-STROM tradition while showcasing a modern look and versatility. Key elements include honoring V-STROM heritage and maintaining the unique styling, such as the evolved "beak" design from the 1988 DR-Z 800.
At its core, the strong steel frame provides excellent straight-line stability, contributes to nimble handling, and performs well at highway speeds, while at the same time featuring the right amount of flex to help maximize comfort on long rides or when passing over rural trails.
The V-STROM 800 has a custom 5-inch colour TFT LCD instrument panel that clearly shows various information. It keeps the rider informed about the bike’s systems and provides important real-time status updates. The design is of high quality, enhancing pride of ownership.
