RS means Rennsport, German for racing, and this bike lives up to it. BMW has dropped the 218 hp M RR engine into the M 1000 R chassis, stripped out weight with carbon and titanium, and built just 1,000 of them. The result is the most powerful naked bike BMW has ever made, with 0 to 200 km/h in 7.2 seconds and every M Performance part fitted as standard.

The 999cc four-cylinder comes straight from the M RR superbike, with higher compression, titanium valves and an extra 500 rpm, good for 218 hp at 14,500 rpm. M brakes, M carbon wheels, adjustable M footrests, DDC suspension and Shift Assistant Pro all come fitted as standard.

A hand-finished brushed aluminium tank gives the RS a raw, machined look you won’t find on any other M bike.

The matt carbon tank cover carries the M 1000 RS Rennsport logo, a reminder of exactly what you’re riding every time you throw a leg over.

Matt carbon winglets with RS lettering push the front down under hard acceleration, keeping the bike planted and stable.

The carbon-trimmed tail comes from the M RR, paired with a black M seat in an Alcantara-look finish with an embroidered M logo.

Only 1,000 will ever be built. The fork bridge carries a "1 of 1000 limited edition" engraving, with M and RS logos on the handlebars.

The rear frame wears an "M 1000 RENNSPORT" inscription, one more detail that marks this bike out as something special.
