Yamaha's ultimate enduro, the WR450F, delivers an unparalleled level of performance and control across all types of challenging terrain. Powered by Yamaha's robust 450cc four-stroke engine and featuring a compact aluminum chassis, the WR450F is equipped with renowned KYB suspension, which has been developed directly from the class-leading YZ450F motocrosser.
This off-road bike is designed to be easy to ride fast, highly capable in technical situations, and versatile enough to handle a wide range of off-road conditions.
It is important to note that all Australian WRF models are supplied fully compliant with ADR specifications, allowing for complete road registration, which includes indicators, mirrors, and a horn. Additionally, a free off-road kit designed for closed-course competition use is provided with each bike. This kit includes brush guards, a front fender, and a lightweight rear light and tail section.
The advanced compact four-stroke engine of WR450F revs higher and delivers broad power throughout the entire rev range. Furthermore, the ECU settings are optimized specifically for the requirements of trail riding and enduro competition.
The front fork of WR450F includes a hand-operated compression clicker, allowing for easy and tool-free adjustments. Both the front fork and rear shock settings are optimized for enduro racing. Additionally, the seat height is 10mm lower than that of YZ450F, which helps lower the center of gravity, enhancing low-speed maneuverability.
The aluminum bilateral beam frame with WR450F engine mounts balances strength and flexibility, improving stability, handling, agility, and traction for technical trails.
The Yamaha Power Tuner App is free and allows users to adjust air/fuel mixture and ignition timing on iOS and Android devices. The updated version is more user-friendly and includes new features like a Simple Tuning slide bar, Traction Control tuning, and a lap timer.
The new handlebar switchgear allows riders to switch between preloaded engine maps to adjust for changing riding conditions. Map 1 offers a more responsive engine while Map 2 provides a smoother response with slower revving for limited traction.
The WR450F features a compact electric starter system that minimizes restart delays during competition and adds convenience in other situations. Powered by a high-capacity and lightweight four-cell lithium-ion battery, this system delivers consistent performance while maintaining minimal weight.
A tri-shaft transmission layout vertically stacks the transmission shafts, raising the center shaft to create a triangle between the crank, drive shaft, and main shaft for a lighter and more compact transmission. The gear ratios are optimized for enduro conditions.
A streamlined, flat, and compact design enhances rider mobility for better control, featuring smooth, rounded seat edges, side covers, and narrow front shrouds. The optimized rider triangle promotes greater comfort between the seat and footpegs.
The KYB® coil spring-type fork offers great handling and bump absorption, with tool-free adjustments. The rear suspension uses a KYB® shock for improved cornering and comfort, lowering the seat height by 10mm.
A large 270 mm front brake disc and a 240 mm rear disc are paired with high-performance Nissin calipers and aggressive pad material, providing exceptional stopping power and control.
WR450F has enduro-developed components, a 7.4L fuel capacity, multi-function meter, 18-inch rear wheel, composite engine guard, O-ring chain, folding aluminium kickstand, and is fully ADR compliant for Australia.
