Yamaha Adventure Motorcycle Range
Yamaha Adventure Motorcycles
Some of us have a destination in mind, while others simply want to be ready for anything, on road or off. For every rider that’s ever wondered what’s down the road less travelled, there’s a Yamaha Adventure motorcycle.
The XT. The WR. The Super Tenere. These are Yamaha names well-known by anyone who appreciates capable, fully-featured motorcycles with that legendary Yamaha reliability to get you there and back...and back again. Out on Australia’s dusty backroads or in the heat of international competition, Yamaha Adventure motorcycles are always right at the front on features and formidable toughness.
On a Yamaha, adventure can start for LAMS riders exploring their first steps into the riding world, or seasoned veterans looking for something to carry them into the next great epic. It all begins right here.
Which Yamaha Adventure motorcycle is best for me?
The XT bloodline goes back decades and has always carried tough, practical reliability in a minimalist package. Light. Strong. The XT250 has the latest generation air-cooled 249cc single cylinder engine at its heart, beating to the sound of a forged piston. Mass centralisation provides nimble handling in a LAMS approved package that’s easy to ride, frugal and most of all, fun.
Next up the LAMS ladder is the venerable WR250R. This bike draws on WR racing DNA. Its powerful fuel-injected 250cc mill has titanium valves, a revvy character and rock-solid reliability. The lightweight aluminium frame echoes the YZ racing line and the bike is graced with long-travel, race bred link suspension to easily handle the roughest of adventures.
Ruling the middleweight adventure category is the Tenere 700, a bike that has captured the world’s attention with its 689cc CP-2 engine, class-leading chassis and handling. On road or off, it’s a long-distance rocket. A long-range fuel tank is built into svelte bodywork. Front and rear suspension are both fully adjustable and the ABS braking is switchable. There’s a distinctive ‘race face’ that echoes the headlights of Yamaha’s factory bikes, as well as compact rally style instruments with a wealth of info and adaptability to aftermarket phone and nav equipment.
Behold the XT1200Z Super Tenere, the bike that set the ADV press into overdrive as it redefined the original Tenere legend with more...of everything. A compact, Dakar-derived 1199cc twin with 270 degree crank finds traction on any road or track, driving through an unquestionably reliable shaft with hypoid gear. There’s fully adjustable traction control with 3 modes. The tough, fully-stressed frame minimises rider fatigue, along with an adjustable seat. ABS and Unified braking help prevent wheel locking, while side-mount radiators aid a slim and beautiful profile.
The XT1200ZE ‘Super Tenere ES’ brings even more smarts to every journey with Electronically Adjustable Suspension. Preload and damping settings are easily controlled from the handlebars, letting the rider access 12 main options, or fine-tune through 84 selections at the press of a switch. Plush, tough and devastatingly quick, this is a motorcycle for those who demand big-distance capability along with amazing load capacity and comfort.
