Bought this to keep my things dry while commuting in the rain. The main compartment is totally waterproof and has kept some of the heaviest rain I have ever experienced out in recent months. The external pockets are not waterproof and may need to be dried out after rain. The straps are solid and hold the pack in place well. The back padding is well ventilated and dries quickly. Road grime cleans off the fabric ogio used pretty easily. Would buy again.
