The KLX230 S features a 233 cc fuel-injected, air-cooled single-cylinder engine that delivers enhanced low-to-mid-range torque for better acceleration and low-speed control. Its precise fuel injection improves throttle response and overall handling, while the simple air-cooling design makes it ideal for trail riding.
Large-diameter aluminium wheels, measuring 21” at the front and 18” at the rear, efficiently navigate trails, greatly contributing to trail riding performance.
The KLX230 S features long-travel suspension front and rear, allowing it to absorb bumps on the trail. Thanks to the revised rear subframe, the increased wheel travel enhances its off-road performance on bumpy terrain.
Kawasaki’s ABS for the KLX230 S model is designed for both on-road and off-road use. Riders can disable the ABS function for both brakes according to their preference when riding off-road.
The KLX230 S features a high-tensile steel perimeter frame specifically designed for dirt riding. This frame provides the stability needed for confident trail riding. Extensive feedback from Kawasaki test riders has helped create a well-balanced relationship between the engine and the frame, enhancing the overall riding experience.
Benefitting from its revised suspension and weight reduction efforts, the KLX230 S is 3kg lighter than its predecessor.
The sleek bodywork of the KLX230 S is designed with minimal protruding parts, which enhances maneuverability and contributes to exceptional ergonomics for both on-road and off-road riding. Additionally, the lower rear subframe allows for significantly increased wheel travel while keeping the seat height comparable to previous models.
Black alumite rims in keeping with the KX-inspired looks contribute to the machine’s sporty character.
An all-digital instrument panel offers at-a-glance information on a large, easy-to-read LCD screen. Features include a speedometer, odometer, dual-trip meters, fuel gauge, clock, smartphone call and mail notices, Bluetooth indicator, and a range of indicator lamps.
Smartphone connectivity enables riders to access instrument functions for an enhanced motorcycling experience.
A compact LED headlight provides excellent illumination in low-light conditions. The new front cowl, similar to that of the KLX300, features a slim design reminiscent of a full-fledged enduro bike.
The redesigned fuel tank, shrouds, and side covers form a smooth, integrated surface with minimal protrusions, showcasing a sharp KX-like style. The two-tone seat features a flat profile that enhances the sleek design, creating cohesive lines from front to rear for a sophisticated look.
A toolbox is located inside a lockable compartment under the left side cover. Both the ignition and side cover panel lock are operated with the Kawasaki One Key System.
